Andhra PradeshPosted by Steph 2009-10-14 21:08:15One and half month after my first trek with the Chennai Trekking Club, it was time for me to go back to the nature again for a new trek. And again we went to Nagala - the 38th trek of CTC to Nagala - because it's so wonderful and only 3 hours from Chennai. This time we were nearly 50 participants so we had to hire a bus!
At 4am on sunday 11th of october, i went out of the house and started walking to the meeting point near CMBT (Chennai Monfussil Bus Terminus). It's only a 30min walk from my place. It's amazing how many people are on the road at 4 o'clock in the morning on a sunday. In front of the bus terminus, hundreds of people were lying on the ground, and had been sleeping the whole night under the sky in the fresh air to catch their bus early in the morning.
We reached Nagala around 7.30 and started walking. We had our first break around 9.30 and had breakfast - bread and jam. After 30min we started again and reached the first pool filled with fresh and cristal clear water - nothing better than that after a 4 hours walk under the sun. We reached the second pool around 12.30 and had a lavish lunch - curry leaf rice, curd rice and potatoe masala. After 1 hour it started raining so we made our way back down the hill. Unfortunately in spite of the rain the atmosphere was still very hot, and now the rocks were slippery, making us a bit more careful and slower. We reached the first pool again, had another break and finally reached the bus at 6pm. At 9.30 we reached Chennai.
