6 months ago i was looking for a greener and healthier alternative to my shopping weekends in Chennai, and i registered with the CTC. The Chennai Trekking Club was founded some 1,5 years ago and counts almost 4000 members. It has already completed 137 treks and on Sunday 23rd of August i took part to the 31st trek to Nagala (Andhra Pradesh) with 27 other members. We started from Chennai around 5am and reached Nagala around 7.30am. It was a 10km trek through the mountains and in between we've been swimming in natural pools(ladies fully dressed of course...).
The whole trail was made of rocks - small one, big ones, bigger ones - and since the most important thing is to keep the group moving at a constant pace, you don't have much time to think about where to put your foot. It just goes like right-up-left-down-jump-avoid the dog that's suddenly running between your legs-right-down-left-up-slip through the water catch a helpful hand-and-right-up-left-down... But we had a lot of fun and the "untouched" nature there is just awesome.
We left Nagala around 6pm and reached Chennai by 8.30pm.
